With reference to Act No. 120/2022 on taxi services, a training course for substitute taxi drivers is offered at Ökuskólinn í Mjódd. The course is conducted in accordance with the requirements set by the Icelandic Transport Authority (Samgöngustofa).
To be issued a substitute driver permit by the Icelandic Transport Authority, the applicant must meet the conditions set out in Article 5 of Act No. 120/2022.
